2009 BMW M3 Convertible

As promised, BMW has brought the 2009 BMW M3 Convertible at the Geneva Show. For the past few months, everyone's attention was focused on the coupe and sedan version of the next M3 and the other sexy model belonging to the same family, seemed to be forgotten. Sure, here and there, we would still get some teasing photos but the attention seemed to be focused on the cars that will be this month.

The 2009 M3 convertible is built on the same chassis as its siblings and in compare to the E46 M3 convertible, the new cab gets a hard top roof. One thing we noticed, along with the guys at Jalopnik, is that the trunk space is very very limited when the top is down. It was kinda expected but still surprising when actually seeing it.

Not a big fan of the color shown here by BMW but…hey, it's just a car show in the end.

2009 BMW M3 will Come to the U.S. in Mid-2008

BMW recently unveiled the M3 Concept at the Geneva Auto Show, but now we have info on the production version, 2009 BMW M3, that is set to go on sale in the U.S. in mid-2008.

Autoweek has the first few photos and specs of the new car.

The new car features a 4.0L V8 instead of the 3.2L straight-six in the previous version. The 4.0L is essentially a shortened version of the V-10 in the M5 and it produces 420 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine redlines at 8400 rpm and weighs 30 pounds less than the 3.4L version. The power is put to the ground through a six-speed stick. A double-clutch gearbox may be in the future. BMW estimates a 0-62 time of 4.8 seconds.

The new M3 features all of the latest technology available: regenerative braking, ABS, ASC, CBC and DSC.

first 2009 BMW 7 Series

Those who do their daily shopping within the pages of the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book will be the first able to purchase the new 2009 BMW 7 Series beginning October 17th. The price of early adoption in this case will be a steep $160,000 for one of 31 Neiman Marcus Limited-Edition 2009 BMW Individual 7 Series sedans based on the new 750Li. While that price is tens of thousands above what we expect the 7 Series base price to be, buyers will get much more than just the car. Included in the asking price is a trip to Europe to take delivery of the special 7 Series at BMW's headquarters in Munich, after which buyers will tour the south of France in their new sedan. After the fun and frolicking, BMW will have the car shipped back to the U.S. for you. And, of course, you aren't just purchasing a standard 7 Series. Each model has been customized by BMW Individual and painted in a special Diopside Black metallic color with an interior stitched in Champagne Merino leather and accented with wood and Piano Black inserts.

2009 BMW 7 Series

The car in these renderings definitely looks better than the current 7'ers, but for some reason, I expected more. I really hoped that BMW will revolutionize their higher-end luxury models and use more design elements from the amazing CS Concept.
It is obvious that BMW decided to go the safe route and we will have to wait and see if that was a smart move, especially since its direct competitor, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, is still the "king" in their class.
For more details on the new 7 series, you can always visit these great resources we have posted over the last months

Although the M5 appears to have a modest look, don’t let the exterior fool you. This BMW is probably faster than most other cars in its class. Not only does it beat out others with its fast speed it also has impeccable stopping capabilities as well as handling capabilities that will take turns and rough patches with ease.
This high speed BMW doesn’t just come with a speedy athletic package it also the brains the too. The M5 comes standard with an MDrive that is located on the steering wheel. 2009 BMW M3 Edition Model

Powerful, aesthetic design, supreme performance and exclusive style - the unique characteristics of the BMW M3 are now available in highly attractive Edition Models focusing on the most outstanding highlights of these outstanding cars.
Based on the BMW M3 Coupe, the M3 Edition Models offer a choice of no less than four highly individual cars boasting perfectly harmonised modifications in body design and interior features as well as special light-alloy wheels and an even lower chassis.
The BMW M3 Edition Models will be entering the market worldwide in July 2009 in Alpine White, Black, Dakar Yellow, and Monte Carlo Blue. In the interest of supreme exclusivity their production period is limited to just six months.
Individual highlights both outside and inside
On the BMW M3 Edition Models the exterior paintwork and interior design are individually matched to one another. Depending on the respective Edition model, the body comes either in Alpine White Non-Metallic, Black Non-Metallic, Dakar Yellow Non-Metallic or Monte Carlo Blue Metallic. The combination with BMW Individual High-Gloss Satin Chrome accentuates the truly sophisticated character of the Edition Models.
The openings on the engine compartment lid on all models are finished in black, the BMW kidney grille, the side gills and the dual tailpipes on the exhaust system come in dark eloxy-plated chrome. The caps on the special BMW M exterior mirrors are likewise finished in black and are connected to the A-pillars by dual arms extending out of the mirror base finished in body colour.
Special colour highlights add an individual touch also to the interior of the BMW M3 Edition Models. The surfaces on the centre armrest, the centre console and the armrests on the door panels are finished in White on the Alpine White and Black models. At the same time these Edition Models come with interior trim in Carbon Structure Leather with white contrasting seams. The seats in Black Novillo Leather feature bespoke contrasting seams as well as vertical trim stripes on the upper section of the backrest and at the front of the legrest. On the Alpine White and Black models, these features come in white, on the Dakar Yellow and Monte Carlo Blue models they are in the appropriate exterior colour.
As a further feature the armrests and door closing handles at the inside on the Dakar Yellow and Monte Carlo Blue models come with yellow and, respectively, blue contrasting seams. And last but certainly not least, entry trim bars in Checkered Flag Design bearing the "M3" model designation give all Edition Models yet another highlight.
Special rim design and lowered suspension

To optimise the looks of the car, all four Edition Models come with specially designed light-alloy rims and a unique suspension: On all models the 19-inch forged M light-alloy rims in double-spoke design are available either in black or in the classic rim colour. And on the Alpine White, Black and Monte Carlo Blue models, the same rims are also available in a special white contrasting colour with polished spokes.
The suspension of the BMW M3 Edition Models adds to the sporting style of the cars, lowering the entire body by 10 millimetres or 0.4".
BMW M3: Supreme performance with eight cylinders and seven gears
The BMW M3 Edition Models give this high-performance athlete a particularly striking look also reflected by the car’s supreme driving dynamics based on a unique all-round concept and drivetrain/suspension technology inspired by motorsport. The V8 high-speed power unit of the BMW M3 develops maximum output of 309 kW/420 hp from 4.0 litres.
Power is transmitted to the rear wheels either through the six-speed manual gearbox featured as standard or through the optional M double-clutch gearbox with Drivelogic enhancing both the dynamic performance and the all-round efficiency of the BMW M3 all in one. In this case acceleration to 100 km/h comes in 4.6 seconds (six-speed manual: 4.8 seconds) and average fuel consumption in the EU test cycle is 11.9 litres/23.7 mpg imp (six-speed manual: 12.4 litres/22.8 mpg imp)/100 kilometres.
The BMW M3 comes as standard with a lightweight carbon roof, while the options include Electronic Damper Control and the M Drive menu enabling the driver to configure individual, M-specific suspension and drivetrain functions just right for his personal style.

2009 BMW 750Li

When the 2009 BMW 7 series was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last fall, BMW's fifth-generation flagship had an anvil-sized burden to bear. Although the last 7 series was a milestone in the sales department, its design – which foisted Chris Bangle's influence onto an unsuspecting public – was all but universally panned when it was introduced in 2001. And if the exterior wasn't offensive enough (to some), BMW's newly-implemented iDrive system sent many reviewers and owners into unmitigated bouts of rage.

For 2009, BMW has sought to address the fourth generation's foibles while capitalizing on its strengths. And while nothing is more subjective than styling, control interfaces have a huge impact on the overall experience. Find out if BMW has succeeded on both fronts after the break.

A new M Sport package is also available on the 2010 7 Series. The package includes an M steering wheel, lift-reducing aerodynamic kit, Active Roll Stabilization (RWD only), Shadowline trim, Anthracite headliner and 19″ wheels with ultra-high performance tires. 20" wheels are also available.
